　７月22日（金）夏季休業前全校集会が行なわれました。
　はじめに校長先生から「今の高校生の時期の基礎作り、土台作りが重要なこと」等についてのお話があり、その後、生徒指導部長から「命を大切にすること」、「夏季休業期間中の心得」等についてのお話がありました。
　集会後に生徒会副会長から「夏季休業前の生徒会行事への取組のお礼」等のお話がありました。
　夏季休業期間中は感染症対策を徹底して、計画的に有意義な時間にしてください。
We had a school assembly before the summer vacation.
　First, the principal talked to the students about the importance of building a foundation of various things at this particular point of life as a high school student.
　Following the principal, the top teacher of the Student Guidance Department told the students to have extra awareness of how precious one's life is and of the rules particularly applied for the next three weeks.
　After the assembly did one of the vice chairmen of the Student Council give a speech to deliver gratitude for everybody's dedication to all the school events since this April.
　We all hope that everyone will have a great time during the vacation.

　７月20日（水）２校時、T-base（遠隔授業配信センター）の杉浦啓介教諭が来校し、対面授業を行った。これは本校「物理基礎」において年に２回の対面授業の１回目であり、遠隔では実施が困難な体験的な授業である実験を実践。当日は熱気球を作るというテーマで生徒たちに浮力を体験させるものであった。
In the second period on July 20th, Keisuke Sugiura, a teacher from T-base (a center for tele teaching), visited us and delivered a face-to-face lesson for “Basic Physics.” Such face-to-face lessons are planned to be conducted twice for this academic year, and today we had our first meeting.

　Given it is particularly challenging to carry out an experiment without the teacher actually meeting the students in person like today, Mr. Sugiura decided to perform an experiment with the aim of making a hot air balloon and have the students see and feel buoyancy.

８日（金）　明日からの長高祭に向けて最後の準備です。
We are trying to make our best preparation for the school festival, which begins as of tomorrow.

　５日（火）「子どもの発達と保育」の時間に子どものおもちゃを作りました。幼稚園で園児と遊べる日が待ち遠しいです。
　Today in the class "Growth and Nurture of Children," students made toys for kids. They cannot wait to play with children in kindergartens in the town (only if COVID-19 allowed us...)!

　７月６日（水）に黒松内町の白井川中学校において、全校生徒及び保護者を対象に長万部高校の説明会を行いました。高校での学習や卒業後の進路、学校生活、行事、部活動等について説明を行いました。参加した生徒の皆さんからは、見学旅行の行程や部活動の活動状況等についての質問があり、高校側から回答しました。
On 6th of July (Wed), detailed information as to our school was given to all the students as well as their guardians at Shiroikawa Junior High School in Kuromatsunai Town, Suttsu District. The information covered about classes, school events, club activities, and what students can do after graduation. At the end of the session, we spent some time on Q and A.

　３週間前に環境委員が設置したプランターの花々ですが、環境委員の水やりのおかげで見る見るうちに成長しました。
　The Environment Committee of students planted these flowers alongside our school three weeks ago. As you can see, their constant care helps them grow right up straight.

　本日５～６校時、函館のえんどう桔梗マタニティクリニックの医師である新垣加奈先生を講師にお招きし、心とからだの健康学習（性教育講演会）を実施しました。テーマは「今日から役立つ性教育」です。新垣先生はスライドを用い１時間以上、生理のこと、子宮頸がんワクチンのこと、望まない妊娠のこと、同意のこと、避妊のことLGBTのことなどを一部アニメーションを用いて講演していただきました。生徒は皆真剣に話を聞いていました。
We spent the 5th and 6th period today inviting Kana Shingaki from Endo Kikyo Maternity Clinic, Hakodate, and learning about gender and sex. The lecturer talked about how women have a period, (unwanted) pregnancy, birth control, LGBT and many other important topics and facts for one to be aware of as they live along. The students took the speech very seriously and listened very earnestly.

　本校では３年生が遠足（ルスツ）を行っています。当初予定していた日が大雨のため延期し本日実施となりました。前日が大雨のためこの日の天気も心配でしたが、無事曇り空で精一杯楽しんできました。
Every year the seniors make a trip to Rusutsu Amusement Park. A prior day, on which we originally tried to go there, had to be postponed due to heavy rainfall. This trip took place on July 1 instead. It was heavily rainy the day before, so we were worried about the weather. Fortunately, it cleared up before the morning, and we could have a good time.
